Model issues and repair guidance

Sharp Twin Energy EC-12 and EC-14 uprights use a top-fill paper bag and suction hose, while the EC-14 adds a rug-floor selector to its flat-belt nozzle. Check the bag collar, filters, hose, and lower intake before reading weak pickup as a motor fault. If attachment suction remains, move to the nozzle and turn the brush by hand with power disconnected. Belt slip, seized brush ends, and a blocked base stay ahead of switch, cord, fan, or motor work.EC-12 and EC-14 start at the top-fill bag and hose; EC-14 also needs its rug-floor selector checked. Compare hose and nozzle pickup after checking bag, filters, and ducting; preserved hose suction sends service to the belt and brush before cord, switch, fan, or motor.
